Inchlet Privacy Policy

Version 1.0 · Effective from Inchlet’s first public release.

1. Operator and scope

Inchlet is provided by Shanghai Woody Business Management Co., Ltd. (“WOODY”). This policy covers the Inchlet app and support provided through inchlet@letswoody.com. The policy published on WOODY’s website has the same scope as the in-app version.

Inchlet is intended for adult parents, guardians and lawfully authorized caregivers to record and revisit a child’s growth. “On-device processing” means that the app stores or calculates information on your device; it does not mean that WOODY receives that information.

2. Information processed on your device

Child profile: the date of birth is used to calculate age and display growth references. An optional nickname identifies the profile. Optional biological sex is used to select applicable growth references. You can leave the nickname or sex unspecified; references that depend on sex will then be unavailable.

Growth records: the dates, height, weight and notes you enter are used to save and search records, display growth over time, compare records, calculate growth references and generate the share cards you select. You choose which measurements or notes to enter; a note-only entry is also supported.

Supporting information: the app generates local record identifiers, creation and modification times, search indexes and summaries for record relationships, ordering, search and recovery. It stores your unit, language, theme, reminder and introductory-guide preferences. Unfinished initial entries are saved as an on-device draft so you can continue later. Device time, time zone and language settings support dates, reminders and display, not location tracking or profiling.

3. No automatic collection of growth records by WOODY

Profiles, growth records, growth-reference calculations and share-card generation are processed on your device. No account is required. WOODY does not provide a cloud synchronization service. The app does not automatically upload this content to WOODY. Reference datasets and currently available themes are included with the app; recording and revisiting growth does not require an internet connection.

The current version has no advertising, cross-app tracking, third-party behavioral analytics or third-party crash-reporting SDKs. WOODY does not use personal information for sale, targeted advertising, marketing profiles or training AI models. The app does not read your contacts, location, microphone, camera, Health app data, advertising identifier or existing photos.

4. Permissions and actions you choose

Notifications: permission is requested only when you enable growth-record reminders. Reminders are scheduled locally through the device, without WOODY’s own push server. Refusing or disabling notifications does not prevent recording or viewing growth. You can turn reminders off in Inchlet and manage notification permissions and lock-screen previews in iOS Settings.

Photos: adding photos is requested only when you choose to save a share card. This writes the selected image without reading existing photos. Refusing permission does not affect recording. You can change permission in iOS Settings.

Files: CSV import, backup restore and backup export use the system file picker to access the file or destination you select. The app does not scan other files. Your selected file provider may use a network connection.

Clipboard: tapping Copy for the support email or app version writes that text to the clipboard. The app does not proactively read clipboard content. System shortcuts open the relevant screen or record-entry action without sending growth records to WOODY’s servers.

5. Sharing, exports and external services

A share card may include the nickname, age, dates, measurements, growth changes or reference results visible in its preview. Review the content and recipient before saving or sharing. Content is passed to another app or service only when you choose a target in the system share interface. Inchlet does not automatically publish to social platforms.

An exported .inchletbackup file contains child profiles and growth records, including notes, record identifiers and timestamps. This file is not encrypted: someone who obtains it may be able to read its contents. Choose a trusted storage location and do not publish it or send it to unrelated recipients. Integrity checks detect damage; they do not provide confidentiality.

If you choose iCloud Drive, other cloud storage, photo synchronization, email or a social service, that service handles the content you provide under its own terms. Opening a reference-source link visits an external website that may receive your IP address and browser information. Inchlet does not attach child profiles or measurements to those links.

6. Retention and deletion

On-device profiles and records are kept for your long-term growth history and managed by you. You can edit the child profile and edit or delete individual records in their details. The current version has no account to close and no separate production feature to delete an entire profile or erase all data at once.

Before importing CSV or replacing data through a restore, the app saves an encrypted recovery copy on your device. Later operations update this copy. Compatibility handling of older recovery files may also retain a legacy copy. Deleting a current record therefore does not immediately remove it from historical recovery copies. Keys are kept in the device keychain and are not uploaded to WOODY. The keys themselves contain no child profile or measurement data.

To remove this installation’s local profiles, drafts and recovery copies, use Delete App in iOS. Offload App, which keeps documents and data, is different. Device keys may remain in the system keychain. WOODY cannot remotely access, erase or recover your local records.

Whether device backups include app data depends on your system settings; this is not an Inchlet cloud-sync service. Deleting the app or records does not delete exported backups, original CSV files, saved or shared images, or historical device and cloud backups. Manage those copies separately. Restoring an old backup may bring back previously deleted records. Temporary share images are scheduled for cleanup when sharing finishes; files left after an interruption are managed by the system.

7. Children and sensitive information

Growth measurements and related health information can be sensitive. Children’s information requires particular care, including information about children under fourteen. Inchlet does not ask children to independently register, communicate or submit information. Use it as an adult guardian or with lawful authorization from a guardian; do not record or share information you are not entitled to handle.

This information is used only for the recording, references and actions described in this policy. Optional fields and notification or photo permissions can be declined without blocking other available features. Without a profile or the relevant data, the corresponding age, recording or reference function cannot operate.

Prefer a nickname and avoid identity documents, home addresses, schools, contact details or detailed medical records in notes, share cards or support emails. WOODY does not ask you to send your child’s profile, measurements or backup files to support. If WOODY receives unnecessary child information or other sensitive information, WOODY will stop using it for support and promptly delete unnecessary content, except where retention is required by law.

Guardians can manage local information as described here and request access, correction or deletion of information WOODY has received. WOODY is responsible for privacy and children’s information requests at inchlet@letswoody.com.

8. Email support

When you contact WOODY, WOODY receives your sender address, any name or signature you provide, your message, attachments and delivery information. WOODY uses these to respond, investigate the issue you raise and handle privacy requests. Opening your mail app from Inchlet does not automatically attach profiles, records or backups. You can use the app without emailing WOODY.

WOODY uses a third-party email hosting provider for mail transmission, storage and necessary security maintenance. Support personnel access messages to handle your request. This is separate from on-device growth-data processing. Do not assume that support email is stored or processed only in your own location. WOODY does not use support emails for advertising or AI model training.

Ordinary support emails are deleted no later than twelve months after the matter is resolved. You may request earlier deletion. Minimal records required by law or necessary to handle a dispute are kept only for that purpose and deleted when the necessary retention period ends. Please describe the issue without personal data and redact any screenshots before sending them.

9. Other parties and use across regions

WOODY does not operate a server that receives growth records or use advertising or analytics SDKs to collect those records. WOODY’s third-party email hosting provider processes information only for email support. WOODY requires entrusted processors to handle information for the service purpose and under applicable data-protection requirements. Apart from actions you choose, necessary entrusted processing or legal requirements, WOODY does not provide received personal information to other organizations or make it public.

If you contact WOODY from another region, your email is handled by the operator. Your chosen email, cloud storage, photo-sync and sharing services and external websites may also process data in different regions. Reading this policy is not blanket authorization for international transfers. Where separate notice, consent or other steps are legally required, WOODY will complete them before the relevant processing.

Apple handles app distribution, device backup and system diagnostics under its own rules. Inchlet has no developer-integrated diagnostic-upload SDK; Apple system diagnostics and sharing are governed by system settings and Apple’s privacy information.

10. Your rights and contact

You can view, correct and delete current records in the app and export a backup containing locally saved profiles and records. Disabling permissions, stopping an action or deleting local data stops the corresponding on-device processing. WOODY does not hold your local data and cannot retrieve or correct it remotely.

For information WOODY holds through support email, contact inchlet@letswoody.com to ask about processing, obtain access or a copy, correct or delete information, withdraw consent-based processing, restrict or stop processing, or exercise other applicable rights. Withdrawal does not affect lawful processing before withdrawal. WOODY does not unfairly discriminate against you for exercising your rights or ask for unrelated child information to verify a request.

WOODY will respond within fifteen business days, or a shorter period where applicable law requires it. If necessary, WOODY verifies identity or authority in a way proportionate to the request’s risk. If WOODY cannot fully fulfill a request, WOODY explains the applicable reason and available appeal route.

11. Security

The app uses iOS application isolation and system storage protection for local information; recovery copies are encrypted. Set a device passcode, keep the operating system updated and safeguard unencrypted exports and shared content. Other people using a shared device may be able to see your records.

WOODY applies necessary access restrictions and security controls to support information, allowing access only to personnel who need it to handle requests. If a security incident affects information WOODY processes, WOODY will take remedial steps and notify affected individuals and authorities as required by law. No security measure guarantees absolute protection.

12. Policy changes

WOODY may update this policy and will notify you of material changes and their effective date through the app or another appropriate channel before they take effect. Where permitted by law, continuing to use the relevant service after a general update takes effect indicates acceptance of the updated applicable terms, provided the update does not require new authorization to process personal information. If changes to purposes, methods, information categories, recipients or other practices require renewed, express or separate consent, WOODY will obtain it before the relevant processing. Continued use does not replace such consent.

The current policy is available in Settings → About Inchlet → Privacy policy. Contact inchlet@letswoody.com with questions about this policy or the handling of personal information.
